Where Are You Teaching?

I just wanted to start a thread to see where everyone is teaching in the fall. I will be teaching 3 periods of 8th grade at Diamond Fork Jr. High (it's a part-time position). I'm so excited to at least get my foot in the door at an excellent school! Where are you going to be? And if you're not teaching, what will you be up to?

  3. I'll be at a new charter school opening up in Tooele, teaching all of the 6th graders and half of the 7th graders. So little!

  4. Congrats everyone--it sounds like everyone has awesome plans. I will most likely be substitute teaching in Omaha, NE for part of this next year.

  5. I will be teaching Socratic Seminar at Maeser Prep (charter) in Lindon. SS is a History/English combo. Ninth graders, part-time,--exactly what I wanted.

I might add that I did not get one interview with either Alpine or Provo school districts for a non-charter school. Interesting reflection of the local market.

  6. I've had interviews at Mountain View High, Lone Peak, Wasatch High, Union Middle, Legacy Prep (Charter), and I hear back from Butler Middle about a possible .5 contract there...crossing my fingers! Man, it's REALLY difficult to find a job right now. In the mean time I'm doing family history through familylink.com at the BYU library...and it took me 2 months to find that! Good luck!

  8. I've been substituting in Rochester (West Irondequoit district) in western upstate New York. Just this week, I received an offer to teach ninth grade English part-time at the high school I've subbed at. The position lasts at least until the end of January but may extend beyond then. Yay!
